How does the online notarization process work?

When do I pay for the notarization?

You are only charged upon successful completion of your notarized document. If you cancel, disconnect, or do not complete the session, you owe nothing.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and direct electronic invoicing for title companies and lenders.

How long does a session take?

Most standard sessions take less than 5 to 10 minutes once you enter the video room.

Do I need a U.S. Social Security Number (SSN) or credit history?

No. We utilize direct biometric ID verification and credential analysis. You do not need a U.S. SSN, U.S. address, or U.S. credit file to verify your identity.

Can I get documents notarized if I am outside the United States?

Yes. As long as your document relates to U.S. jurisdiction, property, or business, you can complete notarization from anywhere in the world using a valid unexpired passport or government-issued ID.

What forms of ID are accepted?

Acceptable government-issued IDs include:

State-issued Driver’s License or ID Card
U.S. or Foreign Passport
Permanent Resident Card / Green Card
U.S. Military ID

Can I sign a document on behalf of my LLC, Corporation, or Trust?

Yes. When you appear before the notary, simply state that you are signing in your representative capacity (e.g., Managing Member, President, Trustee). You may be required to show supporting documentation proving your authority to sign on behalf of the entity.

What if I don't have a valid ID or my ID is expired?

You may establish your identity using two Credible Witnesses. To satisfy legal requirements, a credible witness must personally know you, hold a valid government-issued ID, and act as a disinterested third party—meaning they are not named in the document and hold no direct financial or material stake in the execution of the instrument.

Is there a fee for using Credible Witnesses?

Yes. There is a $10 statutory fee for each credible witness, which covers the notarization of their required sworn statement under oath during the video session.

Do my Credible Witnesses need to join the call at the exact same time?

No. Your witnesses can join asynchronously whenever their schedule permits (e.g., Witness 1 joins at 2:00 PM and Witness 2 joins at 5:00 PM). The session stays active until all identity verifications, sworn statements, and signatures are complete.

What if my document requires additional standard witnesses?

If your document requires a witness signature (in addition to the notary), you can digitally invite your own witnesses to the session at no extra charge, provided they have a valid ID and device. If you cannot provide your own witnesses, we can provide them for you for a fee of $10 per witness.

Is Remote Online Notarization (RON) legally recognized across all 50 states?

Yes. Online notarizations performed by a commissioned remote notary are legally valid in all 50 states and U.S. territories under state laws and federal legislation, including the ESIGN Act and the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the U.S. Constitution (Article IV, Section 1).

How do I verify if my lender or title company accepts RON?

Over 99% of title companies, lenders, and county clerks accept MISMO® compliant Remote Online Notarizations. Our sessions feature 256-bit bank encryption and X.509 digital certificates. We can also communicate directly with your loan officer or title closer if confirmation is needed.

Can multiple signers join the session from different locations or at different times?

Yes. If your document requires signatures from multiple people, you have total flexibility. Signers can join the same live video call simultaneously from anywhere in the world, or they can sign completely independent of each other in an async manner. This creates a dynamic, hassle-free signing process that perfectly accommodates everyone's individual schedule.

How do I receive my completed document?

Immediately after the session concludes, your finalized, tamper-evident PDF featuring the notary's digital seal, signature, and X.509 digital certificate will be available for instant download.

Do my documents need to be fully filled out before the session?

No. If you have blank fields—such as names, addresses, dates, or missing details—we can fill them in live together during the video session before you place your digital signature.

What if I upload the wrong document or need to make a mid-session change?

We can swap, delete, or upload the correct document live inside the session room. You do not need to start over or resubmit your request.

What happens if a stamp or signature is missed after the call ends?

If an oversight is identified post-session, administrative adjustments can be made directly on the platform without forcing you to redo the session or pay additional fees.

Can you help me choose or draft my legal document?

No. As a commissioned Notary Public, we act as impartial witnesses. By law, we cannot provide legal advice, explain the contents of your document, or help you draft or choose forms. Please consult with an attorney or the agency receiving your document if you have questions about its contents.

🔧 How do I unblock Camera & Microphone permissions if my phone blocks them? Most Common Fix

If your phone blocks the session room or camera feed, your device settings may be preventing browser access. Follow these quick steps to fix it instantly:

🤖 Android (Google Chrome)

Go to your home screen or app drawer and long-press the Chrome app icon.
Tap the "i" (App Info) icon in the pop-up menu.
Tap Permissions.
Select Camera and Microphone, and switch both settings to "Allow" (or "Allow only while using the app").
Return to Chrome and refresh your session page.

🍎 iPhone / iPad (iOS Safari or Chrome)

Open your iPhone’s Settings app.
Scroll down to find and tap Safari (or Chrome).
Scroll to "Privacy & Security" or app settings and select Camera and Microphone.
Change the setting from Deny / Ask to "Allow".
Reopen your browser and refresh your session page.

What hardware or software do I need?

You only need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera, microphone, and internet connection. No downloads or special software required.

Which internet browser should I use?

For smooth biometric verification and video streaming, open your session link directly in Google Chrome or Safari. (If opening from an email app like Gmail or Outlook, copy and paste the link into Safari or Chrome).

What if I get disconnected during the call?

Simply click your original email invitation link to rejoin the active session room immediately. Your progress will be saved.

Are these video sessions recorded and secure?

Yes. To comply with state laws, a secure audio-visual recording of the entire notarization session is captured and retained in an encrypted digital notary journal for a minimum of 10 years. Your biometric data and personal information are strictly used for identity verification and are never sold or shared with third parties.
